Compare the Aged Mithiral Boulder D20 and the Solstice Asteroid Boulder D20—two massive 45mm metal dice from Norse Foundry. Discover which heavy die fits your tabletop style and budget.
Quick answer
If you want a rugged, brushed-metal classic at a lower price, choose the Aged Mithiral Boulder D20. If you prefer a cosmic-themed centerpiece with a more striking finish and don't mind spending a few dollars more, go with the Solstice Asteroid Boulder D20.
Size and presence: both are boulders
Both dice are 45mm D20s from Norse Foundry's Boulder line, making them some of the largest metal dice you can roll. That size means easier readability and a satisfying heft that smaller dice can't match. The trade-off is that they take up more table space and may not fit standard dice trays.
Finish and theme: brushed metal versus cosmic glow
The Aged Mithiral features a carved and polished brushed metal finish that gives it a timeless, weathered look—ideal for dwarven or ancient campaign settings. The Solstice Asteroid, by contrast, draws inspiration from celestial phenomena and offers a more vibrant, space-themed appearance. Your choice here is really about the aesthetic you want at the table.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Price: Aged Mithiral is USD 13.20 (down from USD 20.00); Solstice Asteroid is USD 16.25 (down from USD 25.00). Both are clearance deals. If budget is your main concern, the Aged Mithiral saves you over USD 3.
- Aesthetic: Aged Mithiral offers a brushed, understated metal look. Solstice Asteroid brings a bold, astronomical theme with more visual pop. Choose the one that fits your character or campaign vibe.
- Practicality: Both are 45mm—large and heavy. They're stable and easy to read but may not fit standard dice trays or bags. Make sure your storage and rolling surface can accommodate a boulder-sized die.
